<잠 못 이루는 사람들> 전시는 한무숙문학상 20주년을 기념하여 갤러리 잔다리와 한무숙문학관이 공동 기획으로 진행되었다. ‘문학적 상상력이 우리의 삶에 어떤 영향을 미칠 수 있을까?’라는 질문을 출발점으로 하여, 소설가 구효서, 박성원, 정영문, 해이수와 시각 예술가 안경수, 염지혜, 이부록, 하태범이 참여해 서로 짝을 이루어 교류하고 이를 각자의 예술 언어로 풀어내었다. 소설가 한 사람과 시각예술가 한 사람으로 이루어진 8인 4쌍의 예술가들은 5개월 간의 교류와 작업 기간을 거쳐 서로 작업 세계의 교차 지점을 발견하거나, 혹은 불통의 시간을 겪는다.

전시는 문학이 우리 삶에서 일어나는 크고 작은 오류를 보여줌으로써 독자가 동일시와 공감을 경험하게 하는 것에 초점을 맞추어 참여 작가들에게 ‘오류’라는 키워드를 제시하고, 각자의 예술 언어로 만들어낸 결과물을 보여준다. 여기서 ‘오류’는 일차적으로 삶에서 만나는 문제적 상황들을 의미하며, 한편으로 협력하는 두 예술가의 상호 소통에서 일어날 수 있는 이해의 불일치를 전제한다. 매일 일어나는 가치판단의 순간들, 불균형의 혼란 속에 주체적인 생각이 필요한 지점들을 문학과 미술의 형식을 빌려 관객들에게 제시함으로써 현실의 문제들을 대하는 생각의 폭을 확장해 보는 기회가 되고자 한다.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Literary Awards of The Hahn Moo Sook House (HMS House), Gallery Zandari and HMS House joined forces to hold the exhibition . Beginning from a question "How can literary creativity affect our lives?," novelists Hae Yisoo, Jung Young-moon, Ku Hyo-seo and Park Seong-won   and visual artists An Gyung-su, Ha Tae-bum, Lee Boo-rok and Yeom Ji-hye participated in the exhibition through interaction in pairs and artistic language. The eight artists in pairs (four couples comprised of one novelist and one visual artist each) have reached a point of agreement in their work or ended up with miscommunication for the five months of exchange and collaborative work.
By showing big or small errors happening in our lives through literature, the exhibition presents a keyword 'error' to the participating artists with the focus on providing audiences a chance to experience a sense of identification and empathy and showcases the works resulting from artistic language of each artist. The 'error' here means primarily a problematic situation we are facing in life, while it is based on disagreement in understanding that could occur between the two cooperating artists in the middle of communication. Hopefully, the exhibition serves as an opportunity for audiences to expand the depth of thinking when it comes to problems in reality by presenting moments of judgment in daily life and a point where independent thinking is required amid the chaos of imbalance through the formalities of literature and art.
